The Future We Create―Sending Messages from Shibuya

Message from Our Principal

Welcome to SOLA 2023 (Shibuya Olympiad in Liberal Arts 2023). Following last year's SOLA 2022, we are very pleased to host SOLA 2023 this summer. SOLA is a competition mainly organized by the students of Shibuya Kyoiku Gakuen Shibuya Junior & Senior High School for junior and senior high school students around the world. It is a place where junior and senior high school students from Japan and around the world come together to compete and showcase their skills in Liberal Arts, which will be key in solving the SDGs, and to send a message for the future.

SOLA has been able to welcome its third event thanks to the many people who have been involved in this event. I would especially like to thank the junior and senior high school students from Japan and abroad who have participated in this event. Various tools have connected us and allowed us to experience overcoming our differences, and learning from one another has given us new realizations and encouragement.

Now, looking to the future, we need a new society in which people are independent yet supportive of one another. I hope that the day will be a fitting one for the theme "The Future We Create―Sending Messages from Shibuya" by bringing together the wisdom of younger generations.

Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the many companies, universities, and organizations that have supported and cooperated with us in organizing this conference.

Principal, Shibuya Kyoiku Gakuen Shibuya Junior & Senior High School
